William Blake

A series of 4 talks as a power-point presentation:
1) Examples of Blake’s Contraries in his Illustrated works (Marriage of Heaven and Hell, Songs of Innocence and Experience)
2) Blake’s four zoas (from his Illustrated Prophetic Works) as Jung’s four psychological functions
3) Blake and the Imagination
4) Blake and Jerusalem

Each of these themes will familiarise us with the philosophies that shaped Blake’s art and poetry and show us the traditions which inspired him, i.e. the Bible, the Cabala, platonic, Gnostic and alchemical ways of thought.
